Our Doctors

Dr Tadhg Crowley
Prof. Tadhg Crowley has worked in the practice since 1997.He trained in UCD and completed his general practice training on the mid-western scheme.
He became an associate clinical professor with UCD in 2020.
After completing his general practice training he completed post graduate diplomas in paediatrics, psychiatry and in occupational medicine in London.
He is a qualified commercial mediator. He also has done post graduate training in concussion with UPMC in Pittsburgh over the last 2 years.
He has worked with the Kilkenny hurling team since 2001 as team doctor . His current clinical areas of interest are sports medicine in the community, concussion active management, occupational health and commercial mediation.

Dr Seathrun O' Casaide
Dr Seathrun O Casaide is a graduate of UCD, with diplomas in Child Health and Obstetrics. He has worked with the Ayrfield Primary care Team since its inception to broaden the services available to patients at Ayrfield such as Liaison mental Health Clinic and Community Testing for Coronary Prevention. Dr O Casaide’s areas of special interest include Heart Disease Prevention and Mental Health.

Dr Claire Cusack
MB BCH BAO (UCD 1983)
DCH FP Cert MRCGP ICGP
Specialist Register of General Practitioners Ireland. Dr Claire joined the practice in 2002. She completed her vocational training in London and has worked in France and Australia.
She has an interest and expertise in all aspects of womens health. She provides services in contraception, sexual heath, maternity care and post reproductive health. She is a member of the British Menopause Society.
She is a trainer with the South East General Practitioner Training Scheme.

Dr Frank Chambers
Dr Chambers has worked in the practice since 2008.He was born in Newport, County Mayo. He attended St Jarlath’s College, Tuam, Co. Galway. He graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2000 and completed his general practice training on the Western scheme in 2004. He worked in Australia for a number of years. His areas of interest include Travel medicine, Innovation and leanness in General Practice and Care of the Elderly. On completing his general practice training he completed post graduate diplomas in Paediatrics, Obstetrics/ Women’s Health, Occupational Medicine and Sports Medicine.
He has served as secretary of the Kilkenny Faculty of the Irish College of General Practitioners for four years.
He is one of the team Doctors looking after the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Team.
He is currently a director of the Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care Team that provides palliative care in the the home.

Dr Conall MacConmara
Qualifications MB BCh BAO MICGP DRCOG DME
Training – Dr. Conall MacConmara (MICGP) joined the practice in 2015. He graduated from medicine in UCD in 2008 and completed his higher specialist training on the Western GP Training Scheme in 2014. He has a diploma in Medicine for the Elderly and a Diploma in Obstetrics and Womens health. He has also published original research. Conall is looking forward to seeing patients of all ages and backgrounds.
Special Interests: Men’s Health, Allergy Medicine, Cardiology, Child’s Health & Travel Health.

Dr Marian Walsh
Dr Marian Walsh graduated from UCD in 2007 and completed her GP training on the South East Training Scheme in 2014.
She has a post graduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a Certificate in Palliative Medicine. She is a GP Trainer with the South East GP Scheme.
Her areas of interest are women’s health, contraception and medical education.

Dr Joanne Cuddihy
Dr Joanne Cuddihy graduated from UCD Medical School in 2009. She spent a few years working in emergency medicine in Australia while also competing as an athlete internationally. She returned to Ireland and completed the GP training scheme in Dublin in 2017, graduating with the Ellard Eppel Trophy from the ICGP for the highest overall mark. She has a diploma in women’s health, musculoskeletal medicine, palliative care and medicine for the elderly. She joined Ayrfied in 2018 and has a special interest in musculoskeletal medicine, Women’s health and family planning.

Dr Tanzin Dorjey Negi
Dr. Azza Ahmed
Dr. Azza Ahmed MBBS. RCGP[INT]. ABHS. is originally from Sudan. She moved to Ireland in 2016. She completed her initial medical training in Ahfad University for Women, in Khartoum, Sudan where she obtained her MBBS. She specialized as a GP in Egypt, obtaining the Royal Collage of General Practitioners (RCGP [INT]) and the Arab Board of Health Specialization (ABHS) in Family Medicine.
Between the years 2007-2009 she recorded 167 five minute segments on public health issues for the National Radio in Sudan in her native Arabic language. These segments were broadcasted throughout the country and replayed until 2020. She then went on to publish a book around the same time. She is mostly interested in Rheumatology, teaching and research.
Our Nurses

Nurse Triona Dip, ENP, RNP.
Triona Moore Dip in Nursing (Adult) ENP, RNP. Triona began working in Ayrfield Medical Practice in 2014. Since then she has completed a course in Nurse Prescribing and undertaken a Minor Illness Course. Triona’s main areas of interest are urgent care including minor injuries and illness.
Prior to that Triona worked in a number of Emergency Departments since 1996. In 2013 she specialised as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner in Northern Ireland (ENP) specializing in Minor injuries.

Nurse Helen
Helen qualified in 1985 having trained in the Richmond Hospital in Dublin. She worked in Australia for 3 years in Cardiology before returning to work with the Irish Heart Foundation. She worked on the Kilkenny Health Project on Cardiovascular Disease Surveillance. Helen has spent the last 20 years in Primary Care with an interest in Women’s Health and Cervical Check. She has obtained many Certificates during this time including Family Planning and Asthma Care.

Nurse Lisa
Trained in London Lisa has 15yrs practice nurse experience.Keen interests include cervical screening,travel health medicine,childhood immunisations and tissue viability.

Nurse Kate
Kate qualified as a General Nurse in 2015.
She has spent some time working on the Medical/Surgical Wards.
She then worked in the National Maternity Hospital in Holles Street where she received a Higher Diploma in Midwifery.
Kate had special interests in women’s and infant health and hopes to develop her knowledge in these areas further.
